About Jie

Jie is my best friend since we were in elementary school. We were been in the same class in elementary and junior high school.

We both were the 'good-grade' students. And we were together all the time. She were very active and liked to talk more than I did.

During elementary school , after class she normally went with me to our home do homework together and then we went out playing until dark, sometime stayed in our house until her sister came to pick her up. Her parent were very strict parents but if they heard that she was in our house they didn't say anything, they trusted my grandmother. They knew that we should be OK in our house. She knows all family members and even now she is comfortable like home whenever she goes to my brothers' houses.

She was very good at literature. She was the 'leader' for that subject in junior high. She has been very good at her writing. On the day my father passed away which was November 28, 1996 (Thanksgiving Day that year) she wrote a letter to me after her attending my father's funeral and both me and Tony were so moved and she told me the fact and expressed her feelings very well. Tony is hard to be moved by anything, one time I joked with him 'you're senseless'. But by reading Jie's letter he thought that's the most touchy letter he has ever read so he suggested we put that letter into our safety box in the bank, it's still there. I am not good at writing , especially in English, but after reading her letter, I was sad but most of all, I felt encouraged and be proud of my father.

She was also good at science. She was smart and funny. I always think she had been poplar in the school. But she said it was not true.

She is very good at music, she is a good singer both in Chinese and English, I never could sing an English song well when I was in the school, but she was very good at, even now when we were talking over the phone, she could sing to me whenever we recalled a old song. She was trained in the music before.

She is also a dreamer. I would say a big dreamer. She always has ideas and full of thoughts, but sometime I warn her that too much brainstorming is not good.

We've been leaned on each other spiritually.
