Missing Grandpa

Last night Thomas told me that he didn't want to go to Yellowstone on August, instead, he wanted to go back China with me to see his grandpa. He said ' I miss my grandpa' in Chinese. I was holding him and said to him " I know you're missing your grandpa and we're going back sometime next year. " He replied to me " That's too far away and it would take 3 airplanes to get there". Yes last August it really took 3 airplanes to get home and we were all exhausted. He doesn't speak Chinese at all, but he said he missed his grandpa in Chinese and really surprises me. I could tell he missed his grandpa so much. I still remember last year when we were in Beijing and his grandpa held his hands walking in front of us and that was one of greatest moment both for Thomas and his grandpa.

I was told that his grandpa , my father-in-law never had that kind of tender moment for his own sons, but all I've seen was his tender side and kindness. I really miss him too. I really wish Thomas could spend more time with him. He is 80 years old. Happy fathers' day for my father-in-law.
